FREMONT, Calif. – Alert Enterprise Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jasvir Gill has been named an inaugural member of the Utilities Advisory Board Steering Committee, the Security Industry Association (SIA) announced this week.
Created by the SIA as a vendor-agnostic platform, the Utilities Advisory Board is a space for security professionals around the country to learn from one another and share insights regarding emerging trends, compliance issues and best practices. The board will provide collective recommendations for physical and cybersecurity, formally respond to rules from regulatory agencies, and create content for SIA events and publications. Gill will also serve as chairperson of the Technology Subcommittee, one of five subcommittees established to educate SIA members about specific topics. The other subcommittees will focus on cybersecurity, regulations, security practitioners and partnerships.
“It’s an honor to be named to the SIA Utilities Advisory Board Steering Committee and I’m grateful to SIA CEO Don Erickson and the organization for the opportunity,” says Gill. “In today’s threat climate, security convergence across cyber, OT/industrial controls and physical security, is a moral imperative and the only way forward. As chairperson of the Technology Subcommittee, I will bring my experience working closely with utility organizations and passion for security convergence, to find new ways technology can support protecting our critical infrastructure.”
Having founded Alert Enterprise in 2007, Gill is a driving force and thought leader in security convergence and digital transformation. He brings over two decades of experience in cyber-physical identity access management and security.
“Alert Enterprise has a proven track record of success working with utilities to help improve their cyber-physical security posture, which is more important today than it’s ever been. Jasvir is a fantastic fit as a member of this advisory board and the chairperson of the technology subcommittee.” said Michael O’Donnell, SAP National Vice President, Utilities.
All utility security practitioners and SIA members are invited to become members of the subcommittees, even if they aren’t part of the steering committee.
